Long ago, in a land where the sun rose over vast deserts and set behind towering mountains, there lived a wise storyteller named Aseera. She was known far and wide for her ability to weave tales that connected the seemingly unconnected, uncovering hidden truths that lay beneath the surface of everyday life. One day, a group of curious seekers gathered around her, eager to understand the mysteries of existence and the purpose of creation.
Aseera began her tale:
“Imagine, if you will, the universe as a vast tapestry. Each thread is a different faith, prophet, teaching, or historical event, woven together by the Almighty’s hand. If you focus on just one thread, you might admire its color or texture, but you would never grasp the beauty of the entire tapestry. To see the whole, you must step back and observe how the threads intersect and create patterns. This is the essence of the divine plan—a masterpiece only understood through interconnectedness and holistic thinking.”
The seekers leaned closer as Aseera continued.
“Once, there was a young boy named Zayn, who lived in a village surrounded by rivers and forests. Zayn was curious and full of questions. One day, he asked his grandmother, ‘Why do the stars shine? Why do rivers flow? Why do people believe different things about the heavens?’ His grandmother smiled and handed him a box filled with puzzle pieces.
‘This puzzle,’ she said, ‘is a map of our world and its truths. But you must understand—each piece represents a different perspective. If you only look at one piece, you will never see the whole picture.’
Zayn eagerly began to assemble the puzzle. Some pieces showed prophets standing on mountains, delivering messages of hope. Others depicted people arguing over the meaning of sacred texts. Still others showed disasters—floods, famines, and wars—that seemed to punish humanity for its waywardness.
‘Why are some pieces so dark?’ Zayn asked.
‘Because light and shadow are both part of the plan,’ his grandmother replied. ‘Every prophet brings guidance, but with guidance comes the test of free will. Some heed the message, while others sow discord. Disagreements arise, and consequences follow. But look closely—these dark moments are bordered by light. The Almighty’s mercy and wisdom shine through, offering humanity a chance to learn and grow.’”
Aseera paused, letting her audience absorb the story.
“But Zayn wasn’t satisfied. He began to notice patterns in the puzzle. He saw that every prophet’s story had common threads: warnings of consequences, promises of eternal life, purification of soul, and calls to unity. He realized that the rivers in his puzzle flowed into the same ocean, just as all teachings ultimately led to the same Creator.
‘Grandmother,’ Zayn said, ‘the puzzle isn’t just about our village or even our world. It’s about the whole of creation, isn’t it?’
She nodded. ‘Indeed, child. And to understand it, you must think like a river—flowing through many lands, connecting everything it touches. This is called systems thinking. It helps us see the relationships between all things, from the stars in the sky to the soil beneath our feet. It reveals the divine plan, not as separate parts, but as a harmonious whole.’”
Aseera looked at the seekers, her eyes twinkling.
“Zayn grew up to be a great thinker, a bridge-builder between faiths and cultures. He understood that peace, education, health, economy, and climate were not isolated concerns but threads in the same tapestry. By addressing one, he influenced them all.
And so, my friends, I leave you with this question: How will you contribute to the tapestry of creation? Will you focus on a single thread, or will you step back to see the patterns and work to strengthen the whole? The choice is yours, but remember—each thread you touch has the power to shape the entire masterpiece.”
With that, Aseera fell silent, leaving the seekers deep in thought, their minds alight with the possibilities of a connected and harmonious world.
