It is said that to err is human. Any individual or nation can make mistakes. But when one’s actions do not produce the required result, one should be ready to immediately revise one’s policies and promptly take a U-turn. Just as a ship’s captain must adjust course when encountering treacherous waters, or a gardener must prune and replant to save a withering garden, so too must leaders and individuals be willing to change direction to avoid disaster. Stubbornly continuing on a flawed path is like trying to row upstream in a storm; it only leads to exhaustion and failure. Adaptability and responsiveness are the compass and lifeboat that guide us through the unpredictable seas of life and governance.
