When you see a blemish on your face, the mirror draws your gaze to it, and you accept its reflection without resistance. In much the same way, a critic serves as an intellectual mirror, revealing imperfections in your thinking. Just as you would address a spot on your face, you should recognize and contemplate the flaws pointed out by others. Even if acceptance isn’t immediate, reflection is necessary. Just as ignoring a blemish won’t make it disappear, dismissing thoughtful criticism only hinders growth. A negative reaction is like trying to break the mirror—it solves nothing and leaves you blind to the truth. However, remember that criticism should focus on your actions and knowledge, not your intentions, which are ultimately unknowable to others.
